What is SEM?

Search engine marketing (SEM) is the all-inclusive process of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Pay-Per-click Advertising (PPC). The fruits of the work behind successful PPC and SEO is shown on the same SERP (Search Engine Result Page), but the process of getting the results are quite different. PPC has its advantages and strengths, where SEO has its advantages. Combining PPC and SEO creates a powerful force - enhancing the best qualities from both processes. Relying on only PPC without SEO - or the opposite will leave you far behind your competition. Briefly explained - PPC will get you fast, easily measurable results at a price per click - while SEO demands more work, time and know-how, but in the end you will get a lot more relevant free traffic.
